the sun set and the moon reached it's highest peak, full and proud the stars glimmered complementing the navy blue sky "ready?" he nodded and the two young males walked to the docks not mentioning the unspoken thing. they stepped into the wooden vessel and started paddling, the former executioner watched the water as with every ripple the water grew darker till a crimson pallet was formed. an immense feeling of guilt stained achanes soul as regret pierced achanes heart. a small yelp brought him back to reality and his eyes flickered to the near by water, shock hit just as the boat nearly tipped over earning a gasp from the slightly taller male "sorry" they steadied the boat cautiously after grasping the preoccuring situation. the small vessel wasn't trudging through a thick heavy substance but was gliding effortlessly across the water, the morbid mood was no more as of right now the two laughed and bonded lightheartedly without exchanging a single word. what seems like hours has passed, achane drifted off into a quiet yet not peaceful slumber leaving Lucas to lay awake. Lucas twisted, the water churned and the boat swayed 'where were they even going? was there even more land out there? would it be the same as back east? ' they sailed off with no destination in mind and no home to return too. the blackened water reminded him of ink, it looked silky and when it came in contact with the worn down wood it stained black. seeing this made him squint, he may not have a lot of experience with sailing heck he didn't even know how to swim, but he knew enough about water to know that wasn't normal. the more he examined the ink infested water the more he panicked "achane wake up!" he hissed shaking the brunette all too violently. Achane jolted awake with a sense of alarm, both boys felt the rough rumbles of the water beneath and an impact of fear burst through as the monster engulfed beneath the surface head butted the small ship.
